Techniche 2016 started with the adoption of the village Lathiya Bagicha in Assam. Since then many Health camps were conducted and Medical aid was provided through doctors and experts every year. The people are also made aware of various problems in today’s society through awareness drives and exclusive posters.
Techniche has celebrated various festivals like Diwali etc. with underprivileged children from Shishugram since the past 5 years. Members of Team Techniche bring children from Shishugram to the IIT-Guwahati campus during these festivals. They screen movies for these children and also hold some competitions like Drawing, Singing etc. Prizes are given out to the winners. The children also have their lunch together with Team Techniche. Sweets are distributed and some burst crackers too. The children go back in the evening to Shishugram. Techniche has been successful in bringing smiles to these kids.
Education is every child’s birthright. Techniche recognized this and started the 2017 edition of Techniche by launching a campaign to educate schoolchildren from rural areas and bring them up to date with the present modern technology. This campaign was called Pragati and was recognized and got media coverage all over the country. Members formed groups and visited rural areas, with the aim of teaching not only basic sciences but also some basic life skills. Also talent was spotted and the selected children’s education was sponsored by the Team Techniche.
This is the most recognized Student Campaign of North-East by NACO and is held year after year in partnership with NACO. This campaign has seen many people come to donate blood during Techniche.
