The Guwahati Half Marathon is an unwavering commitment by Techniche IIT Guwahati to support and uplift a social issue of relevance in our times. We aim to make the general public aware of this issue and provide means and measures that every citizen can implement.

Every year, a Sustainable Development Goal, as proposed by the UN, is carefully chosen to keep in mind the social situation of Guwahati at the time and the level of justice we can do to the issue.

This time, we urge runners, old and new, to strap your running shoes in support of Zero Hunger.

Our Vision for this edition of GHM is to spread awareness for eradicating hunger in Guwahati city. We aim to equip citizens and participants with the tools and means by which they can play their part by reducing food wastage and donating to the needy.

By collaborating with NGOs and Services such as Akshay Patra and Robin Hood, we further our promise to work for zero hunger while you run for zero hunger.

For every runner in the 21km category, we pledge to donate a food package to the needy.

9th April 2023, a week before Rongali Bihu. On this auspicious event where we celebrate the harvest, food, togetherness and, most importantly, the community, we unite to run for the noble cause of eradicating hunger. Let us take the onus to own our responsibility towards society and its betterment.

Gratitude, one of the foremost tenets guiding us while organising the Guwahati Half Marathon, is an emotion we wish to evoke in each participant. The festival of Bihu serves as an ideal time for all of us to reflect and give thanks to our health and community.
